After the gondola, a gravel ramp is still a pain. But trail specialist Tibor Simai knows: the Hacklberg trail from the Schattberg in Saalbach-Hinterglemm is worth all the effort.

Aaalder, why am I doing this ramp to myself again! And I'm not even talking about the ascent from the very bottom up to the Schattberg summit. No, we've already saved ourselves this steep gravel track over the Limbergalm with the Schattberg Express anyway. Ten minutes of floating and you're at eye level with the Kitzbüheler Horn on the Schattberg summit. However, this is on the eastern summit - and our trail starts on the western summit. This means a short gravel descent to the connecting saddle and then another 170 metres of steep ascent to the western summit.

You can find everything about the Hacklberg MTB trail in Saalbach-Hinterglemm in the PDF download.
