Helper in an emergency: multitool with pliers
Loose bolts, broken chains, flat tyres, bent brake discs or cracked spokes are among the classics. Defects on mountain bikes usually occur when there is no workshop nearby. So it's good to have a multitool to hand. With the compact Bike tools many defects can be rectified directly on the trail. The US manufacturer Wolftooth has developed its own attachment with the Swabian brake manufacturer Magura, which is primarily aimed at defects in the brake system. MTB disc brake is designed.
Brake-specific: The Magura attachment is designed to solve problems on the disc brake
A multitool is always a compromise. Small pack size or lever length, variety of functions or light weight. Wolftooth wants to have created a multitool with Magura that can be extended as required using magnetic inserts and that focusses on problems with mountain bike brakes using special functions. These include a brake disc straightening tool, a slotted 8 mm hole spanner for tightening the union nut on the brake lever and two slots for measuring the wear limits of the brake pad and brake disc.
The centrepiece of the stackable tool is the 8-bit combination pliers. Bits housed in the handle and fixed by magnets give the mini tool 17 functions for minor repairs on the bike. Thanks to the swivelling ball head, hard-to-reach areas can be reached. The stackable tool can be magnetically extended with three additional components. These include Chain riveters with Utility knife, Tyre lever and Dent remover for wheel rims or a Disc brake tool with tyre lever. The tool developed in the USA, including the brake-specific attachment, is available for a proud 89,90 Euro available.
