An assembly stand is undoubtedly the most complete and flexible solution if you want to work on your bike.

However, if space is particularly limited, you can also mount a bracket on the wall or on a workbench. We show eight current mounting stands and two alternatives.

Working on your bike is more relaxed and enjoyable with a bike stand. A good stand should be stable and easy to use, that's clear. But what else is important when it comes to the various models? Mounting stands can be categorised according to how you attach a bike to them. There are A) stands with clamping claws, B) mounting stands with screw claws and C) holders for the fork or the rear dropouts.

Type "C" is primarily suitable for road bikes and does not appear in our test field. Our eight candidates all have claw mounts; four have a clamp claw and four have a screw claw. A clamp claw is generally the quickest way to attach a bike to the stand. However, you have to be careful not to exert too much pressure on the frame tubes with the clamp.
