Feedback Sports is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a special edition of the Pro Mechanic kickstand. This limited edition version features aluminium tubes in gold and platinum, a 20th anniversary emblem and a gold-coloured aluminium release button. Only 850 of these will be available worldwide, 200 of which are destined for Germany.

Two decades ago, Doug and Lisa Hudson founded the Feedback Sports brand in the USA, which specialises in stands and tools. The company originally started out manufacturing a digital scale, but is now known for its stands, storage solutions, tools and roller trainers. To celebrate its 20th anniversary, a special edition of the top-of-the-range assembly stand, the "Pro Mechanic", is being released in a strictly limited quantity.

The top of the range repair stand from Feedback Sports, known as the Pro Mechanic HD (formerly known as the Ultimate), improves on the already excellent Pro Elite model. What is particularly striking is its ability to support up to 45 kilograms, although it only weighs 8 kilograms itself. The kickstand combines this with excellent workmanship and ease of use. The limited anniversary edition of the Pro Mechanic HD is priced at 479 euros and can be purchased on the Feedback Sports website.

Test Feedback Pro Mechanic Workstand HD

Even though we have not yet been able to test the luxury version - and perhaps won't even get our hands on it with only 200 units for the German market - we have already been able to test the standard version with the characteristic red anodised aluminium tubes from the manufacturer Feedback Sports extensively. In practical use, this model has always shown good results.

It's true that Feedback's latest Pro Mechanic HD Heavy Duty kickstand is actually too big for lightweight mountain bikes or gravel bikes. But its weight of around eight kilograms and the anodised aluminium material ensure that it is very stable. It holds bikes of all kinds securely thanks to a bracket that is easy to operate with one hand and has additional protective padding to protect the paintwork from scratches. We find the quick-release fastener particularly practical, as it allows the bike to be released quickly and easily.

How do you like this article?

We were impressed by the very high-quality workmanship and mechanical quality of the telescopic tubes, the folding feet and the clamping mechanism, as well as the overall elegant finish. Due to its price, the assembly stand is particularly worthwhile for people who frequently work on their bikes or have a preference for tools. It is also particularly suitable for heavy pedelecs or e-mountainbikes, which the assembly stand can handle without any problems.

Lighter & cheaper: Feedback Sports Pro Mechanic

In direct comparison to the HD version, the two-kilo lighter Pro Mechanic can be operated identically and can convince with equally practical handling (>> e.g. at Maciag Offroad available). The differences due to the two kilos of material saved are its load capacity, which is a good ten kilos lower, its correspondingly lower stability and its smaller pack size when not in use. The price: 395 euros.

The huge range of spare parts from the manufacturer Feedback Sports deserves praise. Starting with the € 3 dust cap and the clamps for all tube dimensions through to the aluminium adjustment wheel for the clamping mechanism, it offers every single part for all kickstands and is extremely easy to service.
