The Silk impresses with its outstanding stiffness values
17 years of carbon experience, numerous test victories and top marks in the trade press - with the Simplon "Silk", the Vorarlberg-based company is putting its "carbon expertise" to good use: the comfort and riding stability of this all-rounder are at their best.
With the Silk, Simplon has developed a modern all-rounder carbon frame fork set that will be used in an extremely versatile way across the entire "Active Lifestyle" model range in 2011. The strikingly shaped carbon tube is manufactured using the same elaborate techniques as the top MTB and road bike frames. This means that different zones are given greater stiffness or more elasticity to create balanced, stable riding characteristics. Our test bike was optimally aligned with balloon tyres: The Silk runs extremely smoothly and stably forwards without appearing sluggish.
