The new all-round protection packages from Lease a Bike protect customers against theft and other damage caused by wear and tear, personal negligence or external influences.
Possible unforeseeable damage and destruction of the leased object and accessories include theft, wilful intent by third parties, design, material and workmanship defects, natural disasters, etc. Lease a Bike customers can have such events covered by the all-round protection packages and use their leased bike without any worries. There is no excess for company cyclists and no limit for minor damage.
In addition to the previous theft and damage cover, the modified packages now also include an annual inspection of the company bike and a Europe-wide mobility guarantee including 24/7 breakdown assistance. Employees also benefit from the take-back guarantee and instalment default protection.
From 1 September, employees who conclude a company bike leasing contract via Lease a Bike will be able to choose between the three optimised all-round protection packages Basic, Premium and All-Inclusive. Contracts and all-round protection packages that have already been concluded will remain in place.
As part of the adjustments, Lease a Bike has also increased the subsidies for wear and tear repairs: Lease a Bike covers necessary repairs due to wear and tear as part of the all-inclusive package without a budget limit, in the Basic package up to 75 euros and in the Premium package up to 200 euros per year. The company bike leasing provider has also added many other cover measures to the packages.
In addition to a 24-hour service hotline, service bike users are also offered on-site breakdown assistance including a bike towing service, the organisation of onward or return journeys after an accident and a replacement bike in the event of a breakdown. In addition, emergency cash for bicycle tours abroad and nearby bicycle repair shops are organised by a nationwide, qualified service network.
The instalment default protection takes effect when employees are no longer able to receive their salary - for example, due to sick pay or parental leave. In such cases, Lease a Bike covers the leasing instalments for a maximum of twelve months. In the event of an internal change of company bike user, the leasing provider will arrange for a change of name and provide support in the event of early cancellation of the leasing contract by the company. If an employee changes companies, the leasing contract can also be transferred to the new company, subject to a credit check. The bikes can be returned free of charge from the 7th month onwards when the employment relationship ends.
