Autumn in South Tyrol: you can now rediscover classic Dolomite routes such as the Sellaronda. Plus, lesser-known routes and areas – with the best conditions of the year.

The intense heat is over, and the violent summer thunderstorms have passed – the air is clear once again. For mountain bikers, the best time of year for cycling in South Tyrol is now upon us: autumn. These five rides should be on your bucket list:

  • Speikboden – Here you’ll find routes that hardly anyone knows about. The trails, the views and the people are simply unbeatable.
  • Sellaronda - Absolutely brilliant in autumn. Anti-clockwise, amongst golden-yellow larch trees and with the Dolomite giants as a backdrop.
  • Stuanbruch Trail - a uniquely varied trail between Merano and Latsch. A mix of flow trails and root-covered sections.
  • Stone Men - THE high-alpine tour above Brixrn. From the summit, you’ll whizz down a variety of singletrack trails to the nearest Törggelen pub and into the old town.
  • King Laurin Trail Tour - On the tour between Rosengarten and Latemar, you’ll experience the mythical world of Dolomite legends at first hand.
