Rubber Check with the MAXXIS BIKE Transalp Team: Fast roller or grip monster?
Which tyre suits you best when you ride the Transalp 2023? Petra Zeller and Nico Endler from the MAXXIS BIKE Transalp Team asked themselves this question, received professional advice from Mike Hörner at the MAXXIS stand at the BIKE Festival in Riva del Garda and tried out various tyre combinations.

This resulted in a detailed video in which the two of them describe their impressions and give tips on which tyres might be suitable for the Transalp. It came as no surprise that special race tyres roll very well, but are a compromise on the downhill trail and experience with such tyres is required. It also came as no surprise that coarser lugs provide more safety on the trail.

Nevertheless, Mike was also able to surprise them, because there are also tyres between "Race" and "Trail" in the range, which roll easily but, as Petra and Nico had to admit, also cut a good figure on rough trails. If you want to know which tyres were tested by the MAXXIS BIKE Transalp team, take a look at the entertaining video. You can also find out which of them won the internal tubeless fitting contest.
