​With the ROCKRIDER EXPL 900 Decathlon has developed a bicycle trailer that is tailored precisely to these requirements. Discussions with families revealed a clear pattern: it is not the ride itself that is often seen as a challenge, but everything before and after it. Many trailers are bulky, take up a lot of space and are therefore used less often in everyday life than originally planned. It quickly became clear to the development team that a trailer must not only perform well on the road, but also be easy to store and handle.

​“A modern bike trailer must fit seamlessly into everyday family life. Versatility, weather protection and safety are crucial, so that families can use it not only for weekend trips but also for everyday journeys. During our discussions with families, it quickly became clear that the size and storage of many trailers were seen as particular challenges. That’s why compactness was right at the top of our development list. At the same time, it was important to us to make switching between the bike trailer and the pushchair as easy as possible,” explains Baptiste Le Poncin, product developer at Decathlon.

​The ROCKRIDER EXPL 900 Seats up to two children and combines a bike trailer and pushchair in a single system. Thanks to its compact folding mechanism, it can be stowed away to save space at home or in the boot. Features include padded seats with headrests, shock absorbers, a 5-point harness system and a canopy with a 270-degree field of view. A sun visor, mosquito net and rain cover provide protection in all weathers. Handy for everyday use: a removable 43-litre luggage bag and roof straps for balance bikes, scooters or additional luggage.
