PHO bifocal sports glasses with photochromic lenses
The world's first bifocal photochromic sunglasses with highly effective UV-activated photochromic lenses that change from clear (Cat 0) to dark grey (Cat 2; tint level of 57 to 82 percent for normal glare protection in the summer months in Central Europe) before dawn or in low light when the sun becomes more intense and UV radiation increases. The PHO with smoke lenses is ideal in autumn or spring, as you can still see well when driving in the forest or in poor light conditions. The basic shape of the lenses is smoke like clear lenses.
The PHO is also available with brown lenses that change from light brown (Cat 1) to dark brown (Cat 3; tint level of 82 to 92 per cent for southern Europe, high mountains, snowy areas, light-coloured water surfaces and sand) in low light. The bifocal magnification moulded discreetly into the back of the lens is available in +1.50, +2.00 and +2.50 magnification.
The PHO bifocal sunglasses come with a sunglasses case and are available in five different frame colours: black, grey, yellow, white and pink.
The TR90 super lightweight hybrid frame has two moulded, non-slip, flexible temples that are ideal for wearing under open or full face helmets. The adjustable, non-slip nose piece ensures optimum fit and comfort for all face shapes and sizes. Small clips that make changing lenses effortless. All PHO lenses, replacement lenses photochromic smoke, photochromic brown and blue mirrored are easily interchangeable in all PHO models.
BZ Optics - unique eyewear was developed by Scott Birdsall, an avid cyclist, canoeist, sailor and triathlete, and Kevin Barr, a surfer and sailor with 40 years of experience in action sports and sunglasses, in collaboration with one of the world's most advanced sunglass design teams and manufacturers.
Scott needed a pair of sunglasses that he could train in at any time of day. A lens that is clear before sunrise or in very low light conditions, but darkens as the day progresses, amplifying UV radiation. These sunglasses should also allow Scott (who wears reading glasses) to read his digital computer on the handlebars and small print on his watch without having to switch to reading glasses. While the glasses were originally developed for cycling, they are ideal for many other applications and sports.
Golf : Reading and writing on a scorecard or in low light conditions.
Driving: the ability to see a speedometer, GPS, map, radio, clock or other instruments day and night.
Motorcycling: the goggles fit comfortably under a full face or open face helmet and allow the rider to read all instruments day and night.
Running : Read GPS and HRM.
