After his victory in Franconian Switzerland, Roland Stauder was also unbeatable on Lake Tegernsee and won the third marathon of the Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge with a lead of over five minutes on Markus Emmerich. In third place was local hero Stefan Schaufuß.

With 1,217 bikers from six nations, the 4th Tegernsee Valley Mountain Bike Festival attracted a record number of starters. In addition to many amateur cyclists, numerous professionals such as Roland Stauder, Stephan Schaufuß, Samuel Faruhn, Markus Emmerich, Ute Schäfer, Carolin Rahner and Claudia Frank also took to the pedals.

After his victory in Franconian Switzerland, Roland Stauder was also unbeatable on Lake Tegernsee and won the third marathon of the Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge with a lead of over five minutes on Markus Emmerich. In third place was local hero Stefan Schaufuß.

"The race was simply great! The challenging routes, the refreshment stations and the entire programme were well thought out. Simply an all-round successful bike event," was Roland Stauder's verdict at the finish.

Mailin Hummel - second overall in the 2006 Challenge - won the long distance ahead of Claudia Seidl and Carolin Rahner.

Pfronten - Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge #4
The next marathon of the Ritchey Mountain Bike Challenge will start on 23 June in the immediate vicinity of Neuschwanstein Castle. This year, the racers will once again be travelling the original marathon route via Edelsberg, Vilstal, Bärenmoosalpe, Achtal and Breitenberg. Alternatively, a shorter route is also offered. This also leads up the Breitenberg, but only covers 940 metres in altitude and 26 kilometres. The main route in the Königs Bergen has a lot more to offer with 1900 metres of altitude and 53 kilometres. Registration is possible up to one hour before the start.
