There it goes down! There are few competitions where athletes rub their chins and have doubts - the Hardline is one of them.

Alongside the Red Bull Rampage, the Hardline is the ultimate endurance test for man and machine in gravity sports. Since last year, the "original event" in Wales has had a spin-off: Red Bull Hardline Tasmania.

Tomorrow night at the Red Bull Hardline Tasmania, the men's and women's finals will take place. We say: definitely watch it. If not in the livestream at 4am (live from "Down Under"), then at least in the replay on Red Bull TV with legendary commentator Rob Warner.

Here are the 5 most important facts about the Red Bull Hardline Tasmania

1. the course

The course has changed slightly. The most important change: the track has been lengthened and has been given more XXL motocross-style jumps and a fat step-down. The most difficult stunts are rock drops in the jungle, the approximately 10 metre high final drop and a 27 metre wide double, which caused problems for the riders in training. Nevertheless, the original event in Wales is still regarded as the tougher hardline.

2. sam hill

The racing icon is back! Alongside the usual suspects: super racer Sam Hill (39). After his enduro career and his not really successful DH comeback, the Australian has recently been focussing on family life. In the seeding run, however, Sam only took 19th place ahead of slopestyler Matt Jones (out of a total of 23 starters).

3. women

Only two women have completed the seeding run: Gracey Hamstreet and Erice Van Leuven. However, other women can still take part in the final. Prerequisite: They must complete a full run before the final. We hope that Vali Höll will start and win the Red Bull Tasmania. Go, Vali, go!

4 Jackson Goldstone

Downhill dominator and 2022 Hardline winner Jackson Goldstone is one of the favourites in Tasmania. Jackson crashed in Tasmania last year and tore the ligaments in his knee - the Hardline Tasmania 2025 is now his first big race after the crash - and now the youngster wants to give it a go. However, "only" 3rd place in the seeding run!

5. crazy oldie, super-fast youngster

At 39, Gee "King George" Atherton is the oldest participant in the Hardline, followed by Sam Hill. Gee loves the Hardline. In 2018, Gee Atherton won the super competition and took part in almost every event. However, he only managed 17th place in the seeding in Tasmania. At 18, Asa Vermette from the USA is the youngster in the starting field. The young American became Junior World Downhill Champion in 2024. Sensation: in the seeding run, he took first place ahead of last year's winner Rónán Dunne (22) from Ireland.
