Ortler Bike Marathon: Around the sunken church of Graun
Four new routes, even more beautiful views and a spectacular start location on Lake Reschen - the Ortler Bike Marathon will enter its sixth round on 4 June 2022.

This year's edition of the Ortler Bike Marathon will see some changes: On 4 June 2022, the start and finish location will be moved to the landmark of the Venosta Valley, the church tower in Lake Reschen near Graun. The sixth edition offers participants a total of Four new routes:

  • Short: 29 km, 850 m elevation gain
  • Classic: 46 km, 1650 metres altitude
  • Long: 69 km, 2400 metres altitude
  • Marathon: 111 km, 3905 metres altitude

The race team has paid particular attention to incorporating cultural treasures of the region into the route. Nearby Nauders on the Austrian border will also be part of the Ortler Bike Marathon.

All routes around the landmark of the Venosta Valley: the church tower in Lake Reschen

Not only is the highest Benedictine monastery in Europe located on the race route, but also the Churburg in Schluderns, the medieval town of Glurns (the smallest town in Italy) and some of the picturesque mountain villages in South Tyrol. The start and finish of the Ortler Bike Marathon is in Graun (Italian: Curon), directly in front of the famous church tower of the village of Alt-Graun, which is submerged in the Reschen reservoir.
