Because after almost three months of uncertainty about the staging of all postponed or cancelled events on the UCI racing calendar, the UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) has finally found a solution. updated calendar for the Cross-Country and Dowhill World Cup published.
The entire season for cross-country athletes has been compressed into just five weeks by the commissariat, while the downhill events are spread over September, October and November. Following the cancellation of the World Championships in Albstadt, the Saalfelden Leogang will not only host the Downhill World Championships as planned, but also the Cross-Country World Championships. The World Cup in Lenzerheide was subsequently doubled. In addition to the original XC World Cup, the downhill riders are extending their season to seven rounds.
A total of three of the new World Cup dates are planned as double weekends. This means that one downhill and one cross-county race will be held on each weekend. However, the final details of the schedule have yet to be finalised.
The event originally planned for 11-13 September 2020 UCI Double World Cup in Val di Sole, Italy is cancelled.
