After a successful debut last summer, the Orbit360 series is taking place for the second time this year. In the gravel series, anyone who enjoys biking and is up for a challenge can let off steam on 18 routes - the so-called orbits - from 1 May to 11 July 2021. The orbits with steep climbs, lots of gravel and plenty of off-road terrain are spread all over Germany and have each been scouted by a local community member. The circuits can be started at any point.
The Orbit360 series is based on large, well-known ultra-distance races and takes place in self-supported mode, in which any help from third parties and slipstreaming must be avoided. The routes can be selected in the
or directly on the Orbit360 website can be downloaded. In order to take part in the ranking, the orbits must be ridden in one go, directly after the GPS track and then uploaded to the Orbit360 page.
Finisher points are awarded for each orbit completed. In addition, the 30 fastest riders receive additional leader points. If an orbit is completed multiple times, the fastest time counts. In addition to the additional series points for the third, fifth and eighth completed orbit, there are also further badges that can be exchanged for sponsor products. Last year it was only possible for soloists, but this year it is also possible to start in teams of two. There are also different age categories and a separate class for fixed gear/singlespeed riders.
You can register on the Orbit360 website. If you don't want to take part in the ranking, you can also complete the routes without any time pressure or in two stages. Daily updates on the routes are available at https://orbit360.cc and via Orbit360's social media under the hashtag #letsorbit.
