Many events had to be cancelled due to the coronavirus pandemic. The Dresden TransOst organisers received approval for their events in Rabenberg and Dresden just before the pandemic hit.

With the start of the Corona crisis March also saw the start of the big wave of cancellations of events, races and other functions. Many bikers are now desperately looking forward to the first event. The Dresden TransOst team led by David Lippmann and Markus Weinberg can fulfil this wish. After a great deal of commitment, they have been granted permission at short notice to organise their events in Rabenberg and Dresden, subject to certain conditions. This makes the bike weekend in Rabenberg the first authorised outdoor event in Saxony since the coronavirus pandemic.

Whether you're a marathon rider or an enduro specialist - from 19 to 21 June, the Trail centre Rabenberg Long-distance riders get their money's worth just as much as enduro bikers.

At 7pm on Friday evening, you can get your first dose of lactate at the Dunkelwald-Climb mountain time trial up to the Rabenberg and prepare your muscles for the following days. For the long-distance riders, the starting gun will be fired on Saturday morning at 9.30 a.m. for the MTB Marathon. The fun factor will not be missing in race mode either on the trails around the Rabenberg. On Saturday afternoon and Sunday, things will heat up at the EnDuo in the Rabenberg trail centre. Now everyone who craves speed and is not afraid to take risks will get their money's worth. The fastest downhill riders will be determined over two days in nine stages in teams of two. Unfortunately, the FUNduro for children and young people and the German University Championships have been cancelled this year.

MTB Marathon Dresden

The TransOst organisers are already planning the following weekend with the MTB Marathon in Dresden after. On Sunday 28 June, the marathon will not start in the traditional Alaunpark this year, but in Marienallee. However, the Dresden Heath will remain the race route. The organisers promise plenty of variety and fun on a 43-kilometre route. Unfortunately, there are no children's races this year either.

The MTB marathon in Rabenberg and in Dresden are part of the MTB Saxony Cup. The hope remains that further events can also take place in Saxony.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, the competitions will start in groups of 25 riders with a five-minute gap between each group (scoring based on net riding times). The starting positions will be drawn on the day of the event at the start number distribution. The marathon times achieved will be recorded in a large list after the race. Prizes will be awarded to the first five women and the first five men. The prizes can be collected at the registration desk. Unfortunately, there will be no award ceremony. Refreshments are permitted after the race, but the finish area must be left immediately afterwards. The minimum distance of 1.50 metres from other participants must also be observed.

Further information and important notes can be found on the homepage of the respective events.
