Not easy conditions on the race weekend in Lenzerheide. Over the course of the final day, the track continued to dry out and became increasingly dusty. Canadian Finn Iles (Specialized) has been waiting a long time for his first World Cup victory and in Lenzerheide it looked like it for a long time. Iles was enthroned in the hotseat until the last rider. Downhill GOAT (Greatest of all times) Greg Minnaar (Santa Cruz) lined up directly behind him. Frenchman Amaury Pierron (Commencal) was the last rider to start. With a new line choice in the forest section and an otherwise perfect run, he was able to beat Iles' time by 1.5 seconds and secured his third victory of the season. Austrian Andreas Kolb (Atherton) finished in a strong fourth place. The best German was Johannes Fischbach (Raymon) in 49th place.
Last year, France's Myriam Nicole (Commencal) dominated the alpine course in Lenzerheide. This year, the reigning downhill world champion was able to build on her victory from last year and relegated the women's competition to the back of the field. Even exceptional talent and overall World Cup leader Camille Balanche (Commencal) was unable to put up much of a fight against Nicole and had to settle for second place at her home World Cup, just five seconds behind her. Italian Eleonora Farina (Mondraker) came third. German downhill hopeful Nina Hoffmann was plagued by bad luck. She got a flat tyre straight after the start and was the last to cross the finish line.
