After the stylish Klic mini pumps with magnetically fixed tubes, Crank Brothers is now also launching an extremely expensive but also very well thought-out floor pump with a tubeless tank in the workshop.
Simply pumping away is a thing of the past. The new tubeless pump from Crank Brothers has so many functions that you almost want to book a VHS course. The first thing you notice is that the huge floor pump has no hose. It is hidden inside the solid aluminium cylinder. To pump, you simply pull the easy-to-read pressure gauge and hose out of the handle and click it onto the cylinder via a magnetic system, and the air flows into the tyre. A large tripod base ensures a secure stand.
If you want to fit a tubeless tyre, first fill the burst tank, which is also magnetically fixed. Flip the switch and the air whistles into the tubeless system with plenty of pressure. When travelling, the Burst tank can be easily removed from the pump and transported in the car, complete with magnetic hose, of course. If you don't fancy endless pumping orgies, you can also conveniently fill the additional tank using a compressor.
The Klic Floor Pump creates a maximum pressure of 11 bar. The valve head can be easily converted from Presta to Schrader valves. The analogue version of the Klic Floor Pump costs 200 euros. With a digital display, the pump costs 225 euros.
With the Sterling Floor Pump, Crank Brothers has an inexpensive model in its range for hobby mechanics who still don't want to do without a solid aluminium cylinder. The Sterling also comes with a sturdy tripod and therefore stands securely on the ground.
The slightly raised manometer is a particularly attractive solution. It is almost the size of the palm of your hand and very easy to read. The pressure display also reaches up to eleven bar. The valve head is a simple combination head for Presta and Schrader valves. Clever solution: a small foot lever allows you to switch between high pressure and high volume mode.
The price of the Sterling Floor Pump is 69.90 euros. Further information on the products can be found on the Crank Brothers Website.
