The test crew from TOUR magazine had already checked out the small Cycplus AS 2 mini compressor, and now they were able to test the Pro version including digital display extensively in practical use - with narrow and wide tyres. The small battery-powered bike pump costs 99 euros.

Only a few bicycle pumps were able to convince the test crew of our sister magazine TOUR in the big comparison test of four mobile and four larger battery-powered bicycle pumps, which are designed more for stationary use. Some of them became so hot after a short operating time of around one minute that they could no longer be operated without thick gloves, while others failed to deliver the maximum pressure specified by the manufacturer, regardless of whether they were small or large.

The Cycplus AS2 Pro is the sister pump of the current candidate in the test linked above. And despite its still low battery capacity and slight weaknesses, it performed quite well under the highest pressure. Firstly, because it scored points for handling thanks to the valve hose extension. And secondly, because it remained pleasantly cool when pumping and didn't heat up into a hot potato that you could only hold with gloves on.

Cycplus AS2 Pro: Small battery pump with endurance & functional display

The difference in the Pro version, which weighs just over 140 grams, is the display. Although it measures just 18 x 12 millimetres, it provides information on all important data such as maximum pressure in bar (the pump just manages the specified 8.2 bar) and the battery status with a maximum of three bars. This significantly improves the already simple handling of the compact pump, especially as the pressure display provides precise information about the current pressure in the tyre and the battery indicator also accurately shows the remaining capacity.

In our practical test, the Cycplus AS2 Pro managed to inflate a total of four 30-622 tyres to five bar, which qualifies the battery-powered bicycle pump with its 420 mAh battery as an enduring little puncture helper. The mini compressor needs exactly 80 seconds for such a full inflation, while it only needs 37 seconds for an emergency inflation of three bar. Incidentally, the Cycplus AS2 Pro heats up to a measured 45 degrees and can also warm your hands, which is very pleasant during the cold season.

Conclusion on the Cycplus AS 2 rechargeable bike pump in the test

The Cycplus AS2 Pro impresses in the practical test with its functional display and endurance. Despite its small size, it effortlessly inflates several tyres while remaining handy and user-friendly. Ideal for travelling, it offers reliable performance and a precise pressure display.
