An air pump turns 50: Congratulations SKS Rennkompressor
It is considered indestructible. The SKS racing compressor has been pumping up flat tyres for 50 years now. The original model is probably still standing around in one workshop or another.

It pumps and pumps and pumps... The SKS racing compressor is the Duracel bunny of bike workshops. This year marks the 50th anniversary of this classic.

Hardly any other product has lasted as long on the market as the racing compressor - and there is probably no other part with a better price-performance ratio. The robust floor pump from SKS is almost impossible to break. And if something does give up the ghost, almost all components can be replaced.

The classic in its original guise.

To mark its 50th anniversary, the racing compressor is now being launched in a limited and numbered special edition. As with the first edition in 1966, the pump is painted in fire engine red. It is pumped using a handle made of light-coloured wood. The air enters the tyre via the classic brass valve, which is attached to an extra-long (125 centimetre) hose. The feet can be folded in for easier transport and the solid steel tube should be able to take a knock or two. There is also a stylish leather bracket for wall mounting.
