Not again! It goes "hisshhhh" and you're out on the terrain with deflated tyres. Not so bad - provided you have the right pump with you. It should inflate the tyre again with as few strokes as possible. We tested six models.
BBB Windgun S
The compact BBB with folding handle sits comfortably in the hand and pumps smoothly. However, due to the small cylinder, it only delivers a small volume per pumping stroke. The clamping lever is easy to fold down, but does not clamp the valve very reliably. The pressure gauge is inaccurate and only shows a value of around 1.6 bar at a pressure of 2 bar.

Pro Performance Minipump 2Way
On the slimline Pro, the rubberised folding handle is magnetically locked onto the cylinder. Although the pump works on tension and pressure, you need a lot of strokes to inflate the tyre. However, the Pro can manage up to 11 bar and is therefore also suitable for road bike tyres. Here too, the valve head must be unscrewed to change from Presta to Schrader.

SKS Injex Control
Despite the telescopic function, the massive SKS does not quite deliver the expected performance. The clamping lever requires a strong thumb, but encloses the valve absolutely tightly. The angular folding handle presses uncomfortably between the index and middle fingers. The pressure gauge on the SKS is also inaccurate: instead of 2 bar, it only shows 1.4 bar.

Syncros HV1.0 Mini-Pump
The small Torpedo from Syncros looks great with its robust aluminium body and shiny finish. If you pull the hose out of the housing, the angled valve head can be screwed on easily and then sits absolutely airtight. The short cylinder provides sufficient pressure, but does not sit perfectly in the hand.

Topeak RaceRocket MT (BIKE functional tip)
No pump in the test is more beautifully finished. The clever screw valve of the Topeak Torpedo can handle both valve types and closes very tightly. Thanks to the flexible tube and rubberised handle, the RaceRocket sits comfortably in the hand and blows a surprising amount of volume into the tyre, even if you have to squeeze a little harder.

Xtreme Big Volume (BIKE Price Tip)
Wow, only 13.50 euros? The Xtreme is extremely well equipped for that. The large aluminium cylinder creates a lot of wind, the folding handle is comfortable to use. The smooth-running clamping lever closes the valve without air loss. Even the pressure gauge shows the pressure precisely, albeit only in PSI. Only the valve head needs to be changed to Schrader.
