Shimano is expanding its MTB shoe range with new entry-level and MTB/cross-country models. The RX8 gravel shoe has also been given a new look.

Shimano is upgrading its MTB shoe programme. With the new entry-level models XC3 and XC1 as well as the enduro shoes ME7 and ME5, the Japanese company has considerably expanded its range. The RX8 gravel shoe also shimmers in a new colour. The new shoe models will be available in stores from September.

Gravel shoe RX8 with a new coat of paint

Alongside its colleagues in black and silver, the purple version of the RX8 catches the eye. No wonder, as the inspiration for the purple-green colour combination was the prickly pear cactus Santa Rita. However, only the colour has changed from its predecessors. The shoe retains its slim design and impresses with its low weight (265 grams in size 42). The race-orientated and stiff carbon sole with abrasion-resistant TPU studs also ensures sufficient grip underfoot. Thanks to the BOA fastener, the shoe can also be easily adjusted while riding. Those who love long tours will be delighted with the insole with antimicrobial Silvadur technology, which is designed to keep you fresh and prevent unpleasant odours even during long sessions. Thanks to the robust synthetic leather and optimised toe and heel protection, the shoe can also withstand flowing trails. MTB/cross-country shoes XC3 & XC1

From the XC9 top model inherited, these two XC models also feature the tried and tested S-PHYRE technologies. The integrated midsole and seamless upper construction are designed to ensure a precise fit, high stability and sufficient lightness. The XC3 and XC1 click shoes will be on sale from September.

XC3

Thanks to the robust outsole, the shoe sits XC3 The shoe is stable on the pedals and at the same time provides sufficient traction for running sections. With the flat midsole and Dynlast technology, the manufacturer promises optimised power transfer and less fatigue over long distances. The foot is protected on fast downhills by the additional heel and toe protection and the centrally positioned BOA fastener makes it easy to adjust the shoe while riding. The XC3 shoes are also available as Ladies model.

XC1

The XC1 does away with the tried-and-tested BOA twist system. Instead, three offset Velcro fasteners are designed to provide support and reduce pressure on the instep. The upper material is made of perforated synthetic leather and thus promises high breathability. The robust outsole, on the other hand, should ensure sufficient grip when pedalling and walking. All-rounder: ME7 and ME5 for enduro use

Whether for racing or a quick after-work ride - the all-rounders ME7 and ME5 are fun for everyone. Thanks to the combination of high efficiency in power transmission and good grip off the bike, the trail shoes are also popular with professional athletes. The designers have taken their feedback on board and incorporated it into the development of the performance-orientated all-rounders. The two results are characterised by high stiffness and comfort at the same time. Available in stores from September.

ME7

At the ME7The new Michelin outsole is used for the outsole . This has two density zones and should therefore provide even better grip and particularly high stability. The designers have developed a torsion-capable Torbal midsole to provide the necessary flexibility for fast descents. There's no need to compromise on comfort either - the perforated synthetic leather keeps the shoe supple and breathable. The quick lacing system with ratchet fastening is protected from dirt and stones by a protective flap.

ME5

In order to further increase comfort, Shimano uses the ME5 on an offset tongue. This is intended to ensure a particularly comfortable fit. The BOA twist fasteners ensure easy adjustment, even on a fast ride. In addition, the ME5 version promises good grip even in adverse weather conditions thanks to a grippy outsole and the TORBAL midsole is designed to ensure efficient power transmission.
