All-rounder: This is exactly where we categorise the Five Ten Trail Cross LT after months of use. When the foot is on the pedal, the rubber sole literally absorbs the pins. This is worth its weight in gold as long as the foot position is correct. If, on the other hand, you want to reposition your foot discreetly, you have to remove the shoe completely from the pedal. This can waste a few metres of trail until your foot is correctly positioned on the pedal. Compared to Five Tens Impact models, the sole is noticeably softer. The good thing about this is that you can feel the ground you're riding on more directly. However, due to the narrow fit, the stability on rough terrain also suffers.
Off the pedals, the Trail Cross sits comfortably on the foot. It can't compete with the grip of a hiking shoe, but it's certainly good enough for trail sections. If you don't go on bike rides, you'll still have more fun with classic flat shoes.
