Secret mission: Five Ten Freerider VXi with Stealth Mi6 sole
Five Ten presents the latest evolutionary stage of the "Stealth" rubber compound: Mi6. Even higher coefficients of friction and further improved damping properties promise unprecedented control on the flat pedal. The Freerider VXi Elements is the first Mi6 model to be launched on the market with a water-repellent upper.

The top model in Five Ten's Freeride range, which was launched last year, has been supplemented with a weatherproof version. For use in cool and wet conditions, the Freerider VXi with the addition "Elements" has a water-repellent and highly abrasion-resistant upper material. The toe and heel areas are specially protected.

The real highlight of the shoe is the new Five Ten sole. The British secret service Mi6 was the inspiration for the latest evolutionary stage of the already very grippy rubber compound. As if it had been developed for James Bond himself, the Stealth Mi6 is designed to offer even more grip, even more cushioning and therefore even more safety on the folding pedal. The Stealth Rubber Mi6 compound was honoured with the Outdoor Industry Award 2013.

The Five Ten Freerider VXi Elements is expected to be available from the end of August in two colour combinations for 125 euros. fiveten.com

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
