The Rebel 2 mountain bike shoes from Northwave have endured 2000 kilometres in all conditions.

Nasty gravel, lots of dirt and the occasional crash can take their toll on MTB shoes and often cause them to wear out all too quickly. The soles, gluing and seams of the Northwave Rebel 2 were still in top condition after around 2000 kilometres, but during the last race of the year the cord of a twist lock broke. A temporary cable tie had to save the end of the season.

GoodA replacement twist lock is available for less than 20 euros.

BadThe screw for the screw cap can hardly be opened any more.
