The Italians simply know how to make high-quality shoes: Fit, workmanship, support, fastenings - simply great.

Whether in terms of fit, handling or durability: Gaerne's top pedals have not suffered any damage over many hundreds of kilometres of testing, touring and racing. The stiff carbon sole has not suffered more than scratches. This is also due to the hard rubber of the tread sole, which could be a little grippier for running passages and the way to the cellar. The reinforced heel section encloses the foot snugly, while the toe box and last have a sporty cut. Overall, we were very impressed with the fit. The two latest-generation Boa twist fasteners can be finely locked in both directions. The front Velcro strap provides little additional support. However, the pull of the Boa fasteners is easily enough to hold the foot firmly in place.
