The flat pedal riders in the editorial team are clearly outnumbered. But one MTB shoe is on the shelf during the day in all weathers, sometimes muddy, sometimes dusty: the Five Ten Freerider Pro.

Thanks to the water-repellent upper material, the Five Ten Freerider Pro can be worn all year round. The heel and toes are efficiently protected by reinforced sections. Five Ten also manages the compromise between a stiff sole and comfort when walking. The grippy S1 Stealth sole guarantees a secure footing on the pedals, and even after more than a season it still looks almost as good as new. If the Freerider Pro does get really wet, it dries quickly.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
