The Ion "Rascal" shoe has nothing to hide from a Five Ten Maltese Falcon or a Shimano AM9. It really comes into its own in high alpine terrain or in spring and autumn.

The classic lacing and diagonal hook and loop fasten the foot firmly and securely. Good protection is provided by the reinforced, seamless toe cap and the raised ankle protection on the inside. Power transmission is very good thanks to the stiff sole. A little heel slip reduces the walking comfort of the clipless pedal. Conclusion: The Rascal is a perfect companion for high alpine tours or alpine crossings and in the transition period. This is when the shoe scores points with its grippy sole and good protection, while the limited ventilation is more of a minor matter.
