More power on the MTB pedals: Ergon IP3 insole
Ergon uses a Solestar patent for its IP3 insoles, which supports the foot in the arch area and allows the ball of the foot to sink slightly.

The Ergon IP-3 insole is a co-operation between the ergonomics specialists at Ergon and the insole experts Solestar. The stabilising insole offers a glass fibre-reinforced plastic core in the arch area, while the ball of the foot can sink closer to the pedal. This position not only improves power transmission, but also the fit of shoes with simple insoles.

The effect is clearly noticeable in some shoes, and some manufacturers such as Shimano have similarly good insoles ex works. If you are looking for an insole with carbon reinforcement, you will find it at Solestar, but you will have to dig a lot deeper into your pocket, but then you will also get even more pronounced support.
