Endurance test: Specialized S-Works Trail shoes
Really expensive, really light and brutally stiff. Behind the name Trail lies a weight-optimised cross-country shoe that offers more protection thanks to targeted reinforcements and therefore cuts a very good figure in all-mountain and even enduro use.

A rather thin rubber toe cap and raised ankle protection on the inside offer extra safety. Thanks to the two Boa twist fasteners plus Velcro straps, this expensive shoe can be securely fastened to the foot, even for narrow feet. The extremely stiff carbon soles ensure loss-free power transmission. Optimal as long as you are clipped in. The unyielding soles are less suitable for running, as an Alpine cross with gruelling carrying passages on scree showed. In addition, sharp-edged stones gnawed diligently at the thin rubber coating of the carbon sole. The upper material and fasteners remain unimpressed, even after a year.
