As the ideal enduro companion, the solid Rime sits comfortably on the foot, offers sufficient stiffness and, thanks to the Vibram sole, guarantees uncompromising grip on any surface with a high level of walking comfort.

Even several months of use with climbing, pushing and carrying passages could only reduce the profile of the raised sole to a minimum. The cleat bit is correspondingly complete. The Boa quick-release fastener and two Velcro straps secure the foot quickly and reliably. Nevertheless, there is some criticism or suggestions for improvement. The Rime is less fond of stream crossings or torrential downpours and is noticeably reluctant to get dry. For people with slender feet, the Boa fastener could even close a little tighter, and at least the inside would be even more enduro-compatible with a raised ankle guard. In combination with new Shimano pedals, the cleats need to be shimmed, as otherwise the sole rests too tightly on the pedal body.

CONCLUSIONThe very good all-round qualities easily make up for the minor flaws. Robust companion with walking comfort.
