The Australian cycling clothing manufacturer MAAP and the British cycling shoe brand Quoc present their first joint collection. It starts with a limited edition of the well-known MTB shoe Gran Tourer XCQuoc's flagship model for demanding off-road use. The cooperation between the two brands is said to be the first in a series of exclusive collaborations.

MAAP x Quoc Gran Tourer XC: technical features for off-road performance

The MAAP x Quoc Gran Tourer XC cycling shoe is characterised by its off-road performance. A stiff carbon sole is designed to ensure efficient power transmission, while the TPU outsole with replaceable cleats is intended to provide grip when walking and pushing on a wide variety of surfaces. The upper material made from abrasion-resistant microfibre combined with a rubber toe cap is designed for durability. With a weight of 327 grams per shoe according to the manufacturer, the Gran Tourer XC is positioned in the mid-range of performance shoes.

Comfort for long tours

For comfort on long tours, Quoc has equipped the shoe with a padded heel section and an adaptable tongue. The Dual Dial fastening system (Quoc's own technology, similar to Boa, but don't let that read Boa) enables precise adjustment. Ventilation openings are designed to ensure breathability. The combination of these features is aimed at preventing pressure points or overheating of the feet even after many hours in the saddle.

MAAP: Aesthetics meets function

The new "Fog" colourway is specially designed to match MAAP's Alt_Road clothing line. Additional details such as an Alt_Road pull tab on the heel and a ribbed TPU tongue distinguish the collaboration version from the standard model. MAAP and Quoc emphasise that special emphasis was placed on the combination of performance and aesthetics during development.

The MAAP x Quoc Gran Tourer XC will be available immediately via the websites of both brands and in selected retail outlets. The recommended retail price is 295 euros.
