Already ridden: MTB shoes Afton Vectal
In the thickly padded Vectal, your feet feel like they are wrapped in cotton wool. On warm days, this causes heat build-up and a spongy feeling on the pedals.
Although the sole is sufficiently stiff, the shoe doesn't feel very lively. The massive sole almost touches the crank on the inside, and you stand quite high on the pedal. When walking, the Vectal rolls only moderately, so that the heel easily slips out of the flat rear. The lacing is stiff and tends to get caught in the two-part Velcro strap. Overall heavy and bulky.
