Flat pedal shoes with the Boa quick-release system were previously a rarity. More and more manufacturers are now installing the smart fastening system.

I have now been using the Scott Volt for a season. The shoe hugs the foot like a Persian kitten. The Boa system does a great job and ensures a firm and very comfortable fit. The medium-hard sole is not quite as sticky as the "Sticki" lettering on it would suggest. There are soles that provide more grip. However, position corrections on the pedals are easier.

The Volt's area of application is rather narrow. The Volt is stingy with cushioning and protection. The heel and toe protection is discreet. The shoes are designed for gentle terrain, and this is where they score well. Ventilation and weight are okay. In short: very good and affordable all-mountain shoes with casual characteristics.
