With the Avail Advanced E+ Elite, Liv is launching a new e-road bike on the market that is designed for long distances and challenging climbs. The model combines the support of an electric motor with the riding experience of a classic road bike, without compromising on weight or agility.
The centrepiece of the Liv Avail Advanced E+ Elite is the SyncDrive Move Plus motor. With a torque of 30 Nm, it offers consistent support, which should be particularly noticeable on inclines or longer journeys. Depending on the country, the motor supports different speeds; in Germany, it is supported up to a speed of 25 km/h. The motor is integrated into the rear wheel hub and automatically adapts its power to the rider's pedalling effort. The assistance is designed to work naturally and optimise battery consumption. The 30 Nm of a hub motor should be comparable to the 75 Nm of a mid-drive motor.
The battery is charged to 60 % within 1:45 hours, 80 % takes 2:30 hours and a full charge takes 3:55 hours.
The integrated 400 Wh battery enables ranges of up to 100 kilometres, depending on the conditions. An additional 200 Wh battery can be fitted as an option, increasing the range to up to 150 kilometres. This expansion option is particularly interesting for longer tours or trips lasting several days.
The e-road bike is orientated towards the well-known Endurance geometry of the Avail series from Liv. The frame is made from an advanced-grade composite material that is designed to offer a balanced ratio of stiffness and comfort. This frame construction aims to ensure efficient power transfer while maintaining comfort on longer distances.
The handlebars with a slight flare and D-shaped cross-section contribute to better control and stability, especially when cornering or descending. Riders can also adjust the support level directly from the handlebars using SRAM Bonus Buttons & Blips without having to change their hand position. All models are therefore equipped with SRAM shifting groupsets.
The frame of the Avail Advanced E+ Elite has space for tyres up to 38 millimetres wide. This makes the bike suitable not only for smooth roads, but also for rougher surfaces such as gravel or cobblestones - or bad roads. The tyre option gives riders more flexibility to ride off the beaten track.
The Avail Advanced E+ Elite is available in different versions: Elite 0, Elite 1 and Elite 2. The models differ in terms of equipment, but offer the same basic technology in terms of motor and frame. This means that different requirements and budgets can be catered for.
The models should be available from October 2024. Further information can be found on the Liv Cycling website.
The Liv Avail Advanced E+ Elite is aimed at female riders who also ride longer distances and want support on climbs or challenging tours. An e-road bike can help you overcome your own insecurities and dare to go on a group ride. It can make shared experiences possible. The combination of electric assistance, comfortable geometry and a versatile choice of tyres makes the bike an interesting model for various purposes. It remains to be seen how the Avail Advanced E+ Elite proves itself in everyday use.
