Of course you can - just don't do it. The chemicals used for stripping can also attack the resin to which the carbon fibres are bonded. The frame is then unusable. Sanding the paint is also extremely critical. Even the trained eye cannot tell whether the fine carbon fibres are damaged during sanding. Only on older carbon frames is the paint layer thick enough to allow sanding and subsequent repainting. Always call in a professional!
