Fitting and adjusting the mudguard
Mudguards are indispensable for everyday use. The trouble starts when they drag on the wheel or make it difficult to fit new tyres. Our tips can help.

1. alignment
If the mudguard has twisted, the alignment and height can be corrected using the slotted eyelet that holds the plate to the fork.

2. remoulding
If the upper, free end touches the tyre, the wheel is first removed. Then turn the sheet metal end in the desired direction and hold it in this position for one minute.

3. laying
Is the end of the plate hitting the tyre? It often helps to move the struts to the lowrider thread. This shortens them and reduces bouncing.

4. lengthen
Is there not enough clearance to fit thicker tyres or spikes? Bend a steel spoke into a figure of eight and place it between the frame and strut as an extension.
