The Swiss bike brand Scott has signed the world-famous downhill pro Brendan Fairclough.

Brendan is best known for some scenes in videos such as 3 Minute Gaps and Follow Me of the production company Anthill Films. He also plays a major role in the downhill circus. Brendan is constantly among the top 10 in the world. Just recently he took an impressive fourth place at the World Championships in Champery. Brendan has signed a two-year contract with the Scott11 team.

However, Fairclough recently injured his knee and had to undergo surgery. In 2012 he wants to be back in the World Cup Zikrus with Scott: "I'm really happy to have the opportunity to race for the Scott11 team in 2012 and 2013. Of course it's a big change for me to suddenly be the top rider in the team, but I think I'm up to the role. I also think that this encourages me to fight for the top ranks in the World Cup. It's also a big step forward for Scott to make it onto the podium and even further in the Downhill World Cup. I'm definitely looking forward to the new season!"

In addition to his management position in the team, Brendan will also be responsible for the further development of Scott's freeride division. In particular the Gambler and Voltage FR bikes.

Team Manager Claudio Caluori: "We are super happy to have Brendan on board! The whole team is totally excited and we will do everything we can to get Brendan to where Florian Pugin has been since he started riding for Scott: On the podium"
