Looping world record: MacDuff crashes [Video]
Matt MacDuff wanted to deliver a world sensation to the bike scene. His project was daring: a twelve metre high loop. After two years of planning, Matt dared to perform the stunt. But unfortunately without success.

Canadian Matt MacDuff (25) raised money for his daring looping world record attempt (BIKE reported). After many weeks of sawing, hammering and building, MacDuff's loop in South Africa was finally completed. He wanted to conquer a twelve metre high loop - a wooden construction, higher than a detached house. He attempted the stunt of his life. Unfortunately without success. At the highest point, he started to lurch and was thrown out of the loop. The fact that MacDuff escaped with only fractures to his ankle and wrist is nothing short of a miracle.

You can read the full interview with Matt MacDuff in BIKE 6/2016 - on newsstands from 3 May. You can also read the issue in the BIKE app (iTunes and Google Play) or in the DK shop order:

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
