Just a year and a half ago, Jérôme Gilloux was still working full-time on lorries. But since then, the Frenchman - now a full-time e-MTB professional - has had a stellar career. Six rounds of the UCI E-MTB World Cups he won in 2021, and also competed in the Enduro racing series EWS-E and secured the World Championships in Val di Sole the gold medal with aplomb.
Now the French high-flyer is switching from his previous sponsor Moustache to the Lapierre Overvolt team, which is run by record world champion and downhill legend Nicolas Vouilloz is being led. Gilloux has signed a two-year contract with Lapierre. The crystal-clear goal: to defend the 2022 E-MTB World Championship title in Les Gets.
E-MTB specialists with motocross and trial experience like Jérôme Gilloux can play their trump cards on the climbs in particular. The Frenchman is now sitting on his new work tool, the Lapierre Overvolt GLP II Team.
"I am delighted to continue riding for a great French brand and to join the Lapierre Overvolt team, which I appreciate for its great organisation and professionalism. It is also a great honour for me to be able to learn from Nicolas Vouilloz' wealth of experience," commented Gilloux on his move.
