Canyon brings Fabien Barel on board. As a top rider, the multiple downhill world champion will support the Canyon Factory Enduro Team and the development department with his technical expertise.

Canyon is taking off in the enduro sector. The Koblenz-based direct mail order company has signed Frenchman Fabien Barel for its Enduro Factory Team. His greatest sporting successes certainly include the two world championship titles in the elite downhill class in 2004 and 2004. Barel now wants to attack with Canyon, particularly in the Enduro World Series.

In addition to his many years of racing experience, the 32-year-old Barel, who has a degree in engineering, brings in-depth technical expertise to support Canyon in the development of new bikes. Canyon Managing Director Roman Arnold is happy about the addition to the team: "I am delighted that Fabien will be racing for us in the future. Together we will achieve a lot. He has proven in the past that his ideas are trend-setting. But he also fits in perfectly with us on a personal level."

Sebastian Brust was born in 1979 and was originally socialised on his grandmother's folding bike, but has mainly been riding studded tyres since his fifth birthday. Loves all kinds of bikes - and merging with nature. Believes that disc brakes are much safer today than they were 15 years ago and thinks he has helped with his brake and pad tests. However, the trained vehicle technology engineer very much regrets that the bicycle industry is orientating itself on what he considers to be the wrong ideals of the car industry. At BIKE, he corrects, produces and organises digital content on the website.
