The season is in full swing. High time to tick off the bucket list. 20 things you still have to do in 2023.

01 Pull manuals like Brage Vestavik

Have you seen the edit "Sound of Speed" by the wild Norwegian? So cool! Good news: Anyone can learn manuals. You don't need anything except yourself and your bike. Surfing on the rear wheel is pure fun. Manuals transform dull forest roads into fun descents. The bitter pill: It takes time to get the manual right. With diligent practice: two seasons.

02 Give props

Means: "Proper respect", means: praise your friends when something was cool. Proving your courage, hitting a creative line, casually flipping, great airtime - tell your buddy!

03 Join an MTB club

Without a lobby, politicians and the forestry industry won't listen. Joining an association helps. Because the more members, the more likely it is that trail legalisations will be approved. If you become a member of a local association or the DIMB, you are supporting the MTB community.

04 Collecting rubbish

Cans, bags, pieces of plastic - rubbish is particularly ugly on the trail and detracts from your experience of nature. Take it with you! You'll be doing the forest and yourself a favour. Neurologists know: such actions make you happy. #WhatAgoodDo

05 Carrying your bike to the summit

Who loves their bike, pushes? No... you carry! And reach alpine trails full of adrenalin and technical challenges. It doesn't have to be the Dubh Slabs on the Be Isle of Skye like Danny.

06 Repair trail

Everyone wants to shred, everyone wants to braap, but nobody wants to and nobody does the turns. Do you? Why don't you give it a try? It doesn't take much: a shovel, spade, hoe, a bit of drive and a good explanation when the forest ranger confronts you.

07 Take a photo of your bike buddy

In analogue times, it was a game of chance to find a good Action photo to get it right. Expensive to boot! It's easier with modern mobile phones. The drop, the whip, the first no-hander ... your mate will celebrate when you take an action photo of him. Do it!

08 Train like the Rusos

Daniel & Elias show us how it's done: Not only do you look good with muckies, you can hold on to your handlebars while others are already going OTB. Muscles buffer impacts, cushion crashes and tighten the body. 20 minutes, three times a week will change your life.

09 Fit new handles!

The old ones are too thick, worn out, sticky & disgusting? Get rid of them. Treat yourself to new ones. No component can enhance riding enjoyment like yours Favourite handles on the bike. For example, we like grips that are slim and firm like the Ergon GE 1 Evo for 35 euros.

10 Driving a race

If you haven't done it yet, you won't realise what an experience Race mode is. It sets your body and mind into overdrive. Guaranteed! It doesn't have to be the legendary Megavalanche be.

11 Uphill like Braydon Bringhurst!

Why always dismount straight away, take up the challenge and try to master stone steps on the trail like Braydon. That's freeriding too. Our tip: It's really fun with the E-MTB - downhill and uphill too!

12 Everything nosebonken!

Instead of jumping over it, you push the front down, touch down with the front wheel for a quick touch & go and push off again. Hardly any move looks as casual and playful as a Nosebonk. Lukas Schäfer loves the trick. The new-school jibber can nosebonk almost anything: tree stumps, rubbish bins, concrete blocks and any mound of earth he can find.

13 Wallride dare

The good thing is that not all wall rides are the same. There are the angry ones and the gentle ones, the vertical ones and the inclined ones. When it comes to wallriding, start easy and gain confidence. It's exhilarating to roast through a board fence like this, unleashing your g-forces and tricking gravity. Remember: be determined and keep your shoulders low on the inside of the bend!

14 Sleep at the summit

Up in the evening, sleep at the summit, down in the morning, when all the hikers are still in their beds, over empty trails into the valley - that's a recipe for happiness. We know that: Freedom lives at the summit, that's where the soul leaps! But: forbidden in Germany! Except in an emergency. This is an emergency! - The right Bikepacking equipment has to be there, of course.

15 Try out a light e-MTB

We promise: Light e-MTBs are really cool! Hardly any other bike class epitomises the freeride spirit like these turbo bikes, because they are agile, powerful and fun. Opportunities to test them? E.g. at the BIKE Festival in Leogang.

16 Convert like Tom Öhler

Functional and casual at the same time: Offset rear wheel. This turns every hairpin turn into a trail stunt. Cool: turn as high as possible or even without stopping the front wheel completely. #SwivelInRoll

17 Services

They spring in, they spring out, oil squeezes through metal cracks, at every root, every stone, every drop. Take pity on your suspension and give it a rest. Service or even a tuning, e.g. by suspension guru Marcus Klausmann (photo).

18 Jumping stairs

Sure, you can also stumble or stumble down. Let's be honest: let others do that. Because: Jumping scores style points and boosts the ego. It doesn't have to be the monster staircase in Montmartre.

19 Steezy look like Jaxson Riddle

Anyone who has seen his performances at the Red Bull Rampage knows what is meant. The young Utah local makes what is actually difficult and dangerous look stylish and easy. The Dude looks damn good on the bike and simply has the hang of it. We say: Be like Riddle!

20 The Gap...

in Saalbach-Hinterglemm. Five metres down, seven metres out, over a gravel path! The stunt is well constructed, the landing is nice and steep. If only your brain wasn't pondering: victory or coffin? Here are five bike park gaps that will get your adrenaline pumping here.
