You can definitely expect ramps on the really big lap.

This year, German component manufacturer Vecnum is once again inviting people to take part in a gravel ride on its own doorstep. And this front yard is big: the longest lap covers 150 kilometres through the Allgäu mountain and lake landscape. Date: 9 May.

Three different laps are planned in Isny. Not in race mode, but in adventure mode, because the Allgäu landscape is simply too beautiful to race through it with tunnel vision.

Tarmac and gravel paths, but also single trails suitable for gravel, will lead you through the lush green Alpine meadows. There will be ramps, but only short ones. At least the easy route should remain crankable even with normal gravel gearing.

As April has repeatedly swept snow across the country, the exact routes have not yet been finalised. They will be announced about a week before the start. Until then, however, you can use the routes of the past three years as a rough guide.

The three routes of the Allgäu Gravel Ride 2026

The three routes will not be signposted, so a GPS device is not only useful, but a must. No long climbs are planned, but if you have the choice and want to make life easier for yourself, it is better to opt for tyres with good grip and a gear ratio suitable for uphill riding on the medium and long routes.

1st Allgäu Power

approx. 55 kilometres / 700 metres in altitude

The easiest loop around Isny collects its metres in altitude in relaxed gravel ups and downs and leads past various energy sources. Stops are always worthwhile here.

2nd Allgäuer Allerlei

approx. 110 kilometres / 1900 metres in altitude

More metres in altitude inevitably lead to much more beautiful viewpoints. However, the paths also become narrower on the mountain. In addition to alpine roads and gravel roads, the route also branches off onto trails to reach places such as Roderbühl, Eglofs and the beautiful Alpsee.

3rd Allgäu without end

approx. 150 kilometres / 2900 vertical metres

You can't pack much more Allgäu into a one-day tour. Experienced riding technique is an advantage on this route, but here too, care has been taken to ensure that the natural trail sections have a moderate gradient and the climbs are not too long. In terms of scenery, this tour is the absolute pinnacle, but also in terms of fitness.
