Review: the highlight video of the BIKE Festival in Riva 2021.
Last year's event, which was postponed to the autumn due to the pandemic, was a complete success. Nevertheless, the organisers are delighted to be able to hold the BIKE Festival Garda Trentino on the traditional date again in 2022. 50,000 visitors are expected to attend.
The centrepiece of the festival is the attractive Outdoor trade fairwhere all the major brands in the bike scene present their products and make them available for testing. Well over 1,000 MTBs and e-MTBs can be tried out free of charge during the BIKE Festival. Parallel to the expo, there is an extensive festival programme with a variety of sporting competitions.
A particularly popular highlight is the Scott BIKE Marathon on Saturday, with a choice of three different distances depending on ability level and specialisation - the Ronda Piccola (31 kilometres, 1,065 vertical metres), the Ronda Grande (60 kilometres, 2,400 vertical metres) and the Ronda Extrema (83 kilometres, 3,480 vertical metres). After the exertion, as always, a free Bitburger 0.0% for isotonic refreshment.
The three routes are peppered with exciting trails and fantastic panoramic views over Lake Garda. All marathon routes run along public roads, farm tracks, forest paths and hiking trails and are signposted from start to finish. In addition to the route map, elevation profile and route description, participants will once again be provided with GPX data before the race this year.
With the Enduro Challenge On Sunday, adrenaline addicts will get their money's worth. The four stages with a total of 1,330 metres of descent over 6.8 kilometres lead over challenging terrain that requires a high level of riding technique and a bit of craziness. The transfer routes must be mastered by bike. 39 kilometres and 1,570 metres of elevation gain are added up here.
The BOSCH EMTB-Challenge supported by Trek is a varied mix of enduro, trail and orienteering races, specially designed for riding with electric assistance. Of course, the little ones don't miss out either. In the Junior Trophy, the youngsters can really let off steam.
A new side event will be launched at the BIKE Festival Garda Trentino 2022: The BIKE Academy. Here, anyone interested can take part in instructive workshops covering a wide range of topics. There are events ranging from theoretical and technical seminars (e.g. how to set the gears correctly) to outdoor events where, for example, the suspension can be fine-tuned under real conditions.
Registration for the workshops is open from the beginning of April via the Festival homepage riva.bike- festival.de/ possible. There you will also find all further information about the FSA BIKE Festival Garda Trentino as well as the registration forms for the individual events.
