The BIKE Festival in Saalfelden Leogang is taking place on the first weekend of October for the first time this year – and it’s proving to be a success, as Day 1 shows.

Experience the latest MTB models and trends from 2027 up close: the Epic Bikepark Leogang and the surrounding trails provide the perfect setting to put them through their paces. We were secretly worried that the late date, around German Unity Day, might not be weather-proof – but we needn’t have worried. Friday brought glorious weather, and the weekend looks promising too.
By the way: All trails at the Epic Bikepark are open, and there’s a 10 per cent discount on lift tickets this weekend
Away from the trails, visitors can look forward to a varied programme of events, including workshops and tours organised by the BIKE Academy, live music and exciting exhibitions all centred on mountain biking. That was Day 1.
Ride like the World Cup riders
There aren’t many festivals where you can take your test bike straight from the expo area onto an official UCI World Cup track. Here in Leogang, that’s no problem. As well as this very challenging black downhill track, there are plenty of singletrack trails and jump lines.
Brand-new test bikes from Scott, Vpace, Atherton Bikes or KTM
Once again this year, the BIKE Festival’s motto is: ‘Get on your bike yourself rather than just pottering around the exhibition area.’ Manufacturers such as KTM, Velduro, Scott, Vpace and, brand new to the line-up, Atherton Bikes, offered test bikes to visitors.

The Jump is an airbag featuring Lukas Knopf
YouTuber and professional slopestyle rider Lukas Knopf is once again offering airbag sessions this year. Together with Lukas, children and teenagers are taking the plunge into the airbag. Lukas shared some tips for the aerial stunts. Some of the kids showed the pro their backflips or no-handers. But Lukas wasn’t able to watch every airbag jumper – he was too busy taking selfies and signing autographs.
No booking is required: just pop in, ask any questions you have and work on your jumps with Lukas.
Autograph session with Lukas: Saturday, 3 October 2026, at 5 pm at the bike Academy stand.

Born in South Baden, Laurin Lehner is, by his own admission, a lousy racer. Maybe that's why he is fascinated by creative, playful biking. What counts for him is not how fast you get from A to B, but what happens in between. Lehner writes reports, interviews scene celebrities and tests products and bikes - preferably those with a lot of suspension travel.
