Biking is also very trendy among younger people: the number of bikes in bike parks, on pump tracks or trails is increasing. It's great that more and more projects are being launched to create new places, and not just in the big cities. Unfortunately, however, many projects fail due to a lack of funding from local authorities or clubs. The new pump track remains a dream - what remains are the roads with all their disadvantages.
In recent years, the major bike manufacturers have intervened here and supported such mountain bike projects with more or less money. Specialised, Trek and Santa Cruz are just some of them, but also YT Industries has taken part. Now Rose 30,000 in total to support various bike projects. To qualify for one of the ten possible places in the programme, clubs must until 16 June apply.
Participation is subject to two conditions: firstly, they must be registered associations - and secondly, they must want to realise a specifically planned bike project with an existing building permit. This means that private individuals or groups unfortunately fall through the cracks.
"Of course we could have put a huge amount of money into a huge project, but that's not what we wanted," explains Linus Hartung, Event Sports Marketing Manager at Rose. "We want all kids and experienced mountain bikers to have better access to biking by contributing to the expansion of the bike park area network. This is why ten smaller projects are to be supported "where there is real passion" and where there is a lack of sponsors or other financial support.
The Rose campaign team will evaluate the applications received based on various criteria. The ten winning projects will then be announced and presented to the public on 30 June. In this way, Rose not only supports these projects financially, but also provides them with additional attention in the bike community via its communication channels.
