How Eurobike 2019 went
After four days, Eurobike 2019 ended with great success. The passion for bicycles attracted almost 40,000 trade visitors and 2,240 end consumers in three days.

More than 1400 exhibitors presented their latest products and innovative projects in Friedrichshafen. Now that many large companies in the bicycle industry - such as Giant, Specialized, Cube and Scott - are no longer part of the trade fair on Lake Constance, medium-sized manufacturers, the accessories industry and young companies in particular took the opportunity to maintain their business relationships or make new contacts.

The majority of trade fair participants can chalk up this year's fair as a great success. "We were once again able to demonstrate our technological leadership to dealers, end users and industry partners. The response from visitors to our stand was excellent. We can look back on a successful trade fair," said Tobias Erhard, Marketing Manager at Sram.

The topic of e-mobility has become increasingly important, which is why Eurobike 2019 focussed on innovations in this sector. Philipp Simon, Managing Director of Bike-Components, criticised the strong presence of the new trend: "In my opinion, the profile of the trade fair needs to be sharpened: Is it a sporty bike fair or a mobility fair? Is it aimed at the trade or the end consumer? The current concept paints too blurred a picture for me."

This year there were many exhibitors of small vehicles, cargo bikes, e-mobility solutions and e-scooters. These were well received by the visitors and were able to present themselves as the hot spots of the trade fair.

Eurobike remains one of the world's largest and most important trade fairs for the bicycle industry - despite the absence of numerous well-known manufacturers such as the Cycling Sports Group, Canyon, the PON Group and many others. Gerd Klose, Managing Director of Merida & Centurion, claims: "We took a critical view of this year's Eurobike in advance, as we knew that many dealers would not be attending. Nevertheless, the trade fair once again proved to be an ideal platform for international business. All companies in the parts and accessories segment are on site, there is a very good professional exchange and networking - Eurobike is the leading trade fair in this sector."
