If you have the bike park next to your garden fence or the dream trail on your doorstep, you're in the clear. But almost nobody does. That's why we bikers - absurdly, actually - often have to cart our beloved hobby equipment around by car. It's difficult to load on the roof and usually too dirty in the boot (and the children have to stay at home on holiday). Towbar carriers are the most elegant solution. And the Thule Euroway G3 is a classic in this field.
It felt like a decade ago when it came to our editorial office. It has survived various crazy parking manoeuvres and lost some material in a rear-end collision. But it still does its job perfectly: it can be mounted on the coupling in a flash. With a little practice, three wheels can be lashed down without scratching. However, modern DHers and enduro bikes with their ever-long wheelbases push it to its limits - some successor models (Velospace XT) are designed for plus tyres and 29-inch wheels. In the meantime, a light bulb burns out more frequently because the seals of the lamps are a bit rotten, but the thing will certainly last another ten years.
