Thermos flasks in a quick check
When warm thoughts alone are not enough, thermo bottles have to heat shivering bikers from the inside. Six models put to the test.

Steaming tea! When your breath is already condensing into little clouds in your mouth, you want nothing more than a sip of steaming tea. All the more so when your limbs are already as frozen as frozen peas from the icy wind. Six manufacturers promise cosy moments on uncomfortable winter days with their insulated drinking bottles. The developers pack an insulating layer of air, an aluminium bag or, in the case of Elite, a special gel between the outer skin and the actual drinking container. Filled with liquid at a temperature of 70 degrees, the test candidates were placed in the freezer compartment for the insulation test.

By the way: If you carry your tea in your back pocket instead of exposing it to the wind in the bottle cage, you won't have to be content with warm thoughts even after hours in the saddle.
