Restrap Mudguards: Three mudguards for MTB, gravel and luggage racks: Wet trails, splashes on the road and mud in your face are often part and parcel of autumn. With its new mudguard range, Restrap presents three lightweight mudguards made from polypropylene, each designed for a clearly defined purpose.

According to the manufacturer, all three models are made in the UK, feature the distinctive Restrap Contour pattern and are available now.

Restrap Switch Rack Rear Mudguard: Protection for the rear wheel and luggage rack

The Switch Rack Rear Mudguard is designed for cyclists who use the Restrap Switch Rack. It is fitted to the underside of the luggage rack and is intended to protect both the rider and any luggage attached to the side from dirt and water thrown up by the rear wheel.

The mudguard, which weighs just 78 grams, is designed exclusively for the Switch Rack. To fit it, insert the M5 screws supplied into the threaded holes on the underside of the luggage rack. Restrap recommends tightening the screws to a maximum of 5 Nm. The manufacturer specifies a minimum tyre clearance of 29 x 2.6 inches; larger combinations may also fit, depending on the frame, rim width and geometry.

Restrap MTB Fork Mudguard: More coverage for your mountain bike

Restrap offers the MTB Fork Mudguard for mountain bikes and many adventure bikes. It is positioned beneath the fork crown of a suspension fork or on the crown of a rigid fork and secured to the fork legs using cable ties.

The key difference compared to the gravel version is the larger flap. It is designed to make the most of the generally more generous clearance between the front wheel, fork and down tube on a mountain bike, thereby offering greater protection against mud and spray. Weighing just 40 grams, the mudguard remains lightweight and is particularly suitable for rides in wet trail conditions.

Restrap Gravel Fork Mudguard: For tight clearances on gravel bikes

The Gravel Fork Mudguard uses the same mounting method as the MTB model, but is designed for bikes with less tyre and frame clearance. Its more compact shape fits better into the often narrow space between the back of the fork and the down tube on a gravel bike.

Weighing just 26 grams, the Mudguard is designed for cyclists who ride in changeable weather but do not wish to fit a large mudguard. Restrap recommends applying protective film to the contact points on both fork mudguards to prevent damage to the paintwork caused by the cable ties.
